Terms of Service

Effective 8 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-08

Draft for the private beta. This is a working scaffold, not final legal text, and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Bracketed items are placeholders. It must be reviewed and completed before a public launch.

1. Who we are

SoundMatch is operated by [company legal name], [registered address] (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. The service

SoundMatch helps artists and producers find collaborators. You create a profile, see suggested profiles, and can message people once you both like each other. The service is in a private beta: features may change, break or be removed, and there is no guarantee that you will find a collaborator.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least [minimum age, e.g. 16 or 18] years old.
  • Give accurate information and keep your password secure.
  • One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload — your profile, photo, music and messages. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy and display that content only as needed to run SoundMatch, for as long as it is on the service.

Your profile, photo and tracks are shown to other SoundMatch users, and photo and track files can be opened by anyone who has their link. Only upload music you own or have permission to share.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use SoundMatch to:

  • harass, threaten, bully or abuse anyone, or post hateful content;
  • send spam, scams or unsolicited promotion;
  • share sexual content, or any content involving minors;
  • impersonate someone or misrepresent who you are;
  • upload content that infringes someone else's rights;
  • interfere with the service, access other people's data, or scrape or automate access to it.

6. Safety, reports and enforcement

You can block, unmatch or report anyone. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, with or without notice where the situation calls for it.

7. Collaborations between users

Any collaboration, deal or payment you agree with another user is between you and them. We are not a party to it and are not responsible for other users' conduct, content or obligations.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. This permanently removes your profile, music, matches and conversations, as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and liability

[warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability, drafted for the governing law]

10. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms in a meaningful way, we will publish a new version with a new effective date and ask you to accept it before you continue using SoundMatch.

11. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction]. Questions: [contact email].
